Copyright & Image Use

At Studio23 Photos, I am honored to capture your memories. This page explains who owns the copyright to the images I create and how both you and Studio23 Photos may use them.

Copyright Ownership

In accordance with United States copyright law, Studio23 Photos retains the copyright to all photographs created during your session, including edited and unedited images.

Purchasing a photography session or receiving digital images does not transfer copyright ownership.

Personal Use License

Clients receive a personal-use license for all delivered images. This allows you to:

• Download your images.
• Share your images on social media.
• Print your images for personal use.
• Create personal photo gifts and keepsakes.

Images may not be sold, altered beyond basic cropping for printing, entered into contests, or used for commercial purposes without prior written permission from Studio23 Photos.

Studio23 Photos Image Use

Unless otherwise agreed upon in writing before or after your session, Studio23 Photos reserves the right to use photographs from your session for:

• Portfolio displays
• Website galleries
• Social media posts
• Advertising and marketing materials
• Printed promotional materials
• Photography competitions and professional publications
• Educational or business-related purposes

This allows Studio23 Photos to showcase recent work and help future clients see the quality and style of photography offered.

Privacy Requests

Your privacy is important.

If you would prefer that your images not be used for marketing, advertising, social media, or portfolio purposes, simply let me know. I am happy to honor reasonable privacy requests when communicated before your gallery is delivered.

Written agreements restricting image use will always take precedence over this general policy.

Social Media

I love when clients share their photos! When posting your images online, I kindly ask that you:

Do not apply filters or heavy edits that alter the appearance of the photographs.

Credit Studio23 Photos when possible by tagging my business page or mentioning Studio23 Photos.

While credit is always appreciated, it is not required.

Commercial Use

Any commercial use of Studio23 Photos images—including advertising, business promotions, resale, publication by third parties, or other commercial applications—requires prior written permission and may require the purchase of a commercial license.
